i think maybe you have death metal confused with metal....death metal is the screaming shit and its mostly not about death but more about "get the fuck away from me before i claw your face off and feed it to the hounds of satan."...regular nu metal they dont scream...well sometimes but all in good fun......and you cant say it takes more skill to rap....most of the time they write the lyrics and thats all....its always someone elses beat who never gets credit for it...regardless if you compare it too heavy metal or even a rock band....either way it takes far more skill to get 4 or more people who are able to play in unison...in tune...and develop a voice people will like and listen too...Im not saying rap takes no skill at all im just saying playing in a band takes a hell of alot more.... Just take a look at Dimebag Darrels solos and you will clearly see that it takes ALOT of skill to shred like he used too.....BTW RIP DIMEBAG ...I hope Nathan Gale is rotting in hell for what he did to you.... I mean rhyming isnt that hard....and thats about all rappers do..but most songs written by bands also rhyme and could easily be turned into a rap song ....I mean thats what makes it music...its like poetry if it doesnt rhyme it wont sound good..and thats the basis for every type of music...

but hellyea, i really agree with your stand point, but also consider the fact GOOD rappes, make lyrics that mean something, and carry message, the good rappers dont rap about guns and women, the good ones have gone underground and rap about life, things you can connect to. Thank you for posting and you have changed my viewpoint but i still belive it takes about the same amount of talent for rap and rock/metal

I could rhyme lyrics. There's no fucking way i could play any instruments. It takes alot more skill and practice to play an instrument then talk fast and just have music in the background.
